Good gluten-free bakeries in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence where it is possible to find gluten-free bread or pastries? It’s here!
I lived for more than 10 years in Aix and I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not always very easy to find gluten-free bakeries in Aix-en-Provence, whereas in Marseille it’s a little easier!
I did my little survey and found you some little nuggets to get you good things from gluten-free bakeries in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence.
Gluten-free bakeries in Aix-en-Provence
Let’s start with this beautiful city, Aix-en-Provence. I have found three addresses where it is possible to find gluten-free bread. Come on, let’s discover them together?
1. La Fabrique du pain, for a gluten-free bread with rice flour and buckwheat
4 rue Pierre de Coubertin 13100 Aix-en-Provence ; open from 09:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday to Saturday & from 09:00 am – 1:00 pm on public holidays to taste this good gluten free bread!
At the Bread Factory – La Fabrique du pain, you can find good gluten-free bread made from rice flour and buckwheat enriched with sunflower, flax and poppy seeds. On sale in the store every day, this good bread is prepared in a bakery which are used to make the basic breads. However, the Bread Factory takes every precaution to reduce cross-contamination as much as possible: cleaning of the vats, use of specific tools for gluten-free bread). So watch out for celiacs but perfect for intolerant people!
The teams are really at the top, very attentive and passionate about their job. On top of that, they speak English (you never know… even if it’s complicated to travel at the moment, it’s still a good point for foreigners).
Little strategic information: you can reserve your bread at 04 42 23 90 47, and if you wish to order more than 3 pieces, it is requested to order it 72 hours in advance (so that the largest number can be served!).
Ps: for the little gourmets, they offer small coconut rocks to fall… (and it’s gluten-free of course!).
2. Le Goût du pain, for certified gluten-free bread
105 Avenue de Bredasque, 13090 Aix-en-Provence, France, open every day from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm except Sunday open from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The only address I managed to find to find gluten-free bread for celiacs in a gluten-free bakery in Aix-en-Provence is in Jas de Bouffan at the Goût du pain.
You will have to order it at +33 4 42 20 68 38 and see with them when you can go and get it.
3. Le pain quotidien, not a bakery as such, but a source of gluten-free bread
Meet at 5 Place Richelme, 13100 Aix-en-Provence, France, open from 8:30 to 3:00 pm every day except Saturday, they close at 4:00 pm!
It’s not a real bakery, but you can still order yourself a nice little brunch with a good gluten-free bread. Between their gluten-free toasts which can all be adapted for gluten-free, and their brunch with the possibility to exchange the pastries with organic and gluten-free Belgian brownie, you will be served!
